The Official “Friends of the Mansion” Holiday Ornaments

The 2023 Friends of the Mansion collectible Christmas ornament showcases the exquisite Oklahoma Room within the Oklahoma Governor’s Mansion. This room serves as the formal parlor, where esteemed guests are received. Its elegant fireplace mantle is an original feature of the house, dating back to its construction in 1928. Adorning the wall above the mantle is the artwork ‘Springtime at the Mansion’ by the talented artist Kenny McKenna. The room’s expansive area rug prominently displays the state seal of Oklahoma as its central medallion. An intriguing addition to the room is the mahogany drum table, once owned by the renowned Tulsa-based interior designer and author, Charles Faudree.

Adding to the room’s allure is a stunning crystal chandelier, designed by an enthusiast of hot-air balloons, bearing a striking resemblance to them. This chandelier was generously donated by the city of Chickasha as a nod to their annual Festival of Lights and was installed in 1995. Through the discerning eye of First Lady Sarah Stitt, this classically designed space continues to uphold a tradition of timeless elegance within our Governor’s historic home.

Crafted with attention to detail, this ornament is finished in 24-karat gold and meticulously assembled in the United States. It proudly represents the 27th edition in an annual series by Friends of the Mansion, a non-profit organization dedicated to the preservation, restoration and enhancement of the historic Oklahoma Governor’s Mansion and its surrounding grounds.

As we celebrate this holiday season, Governor Kevin Stitt and First Lady Sarah Stitt extend their warm wishes: ‘Merry Christmas! May God richly bless and keep you not only during this holiday season but throughout the entire year!
